By From staff reports 2 min read

The bowling season consists of 32 weeks, and John Heck Jr. didn't waste any time as he rolled a 300 in his last game of the first week, producing an 803 series in the Intercommunity League to nail down male Bowler of the Week honors.

Beth Morgan secured female Bowler of the Week honors with a 714 series in that same league. Close behind Morgan was Alicia Edkin who not only shot a 702 in the Monday Night Classic League but also followed it with a 706 the next night in the Intercommunity, before posting a 710 the next week in that same league. Morgan's high series included a 268 game which was tied by Brittany Weidler in the Thursday Night Bowling League for best women's game of the week, while the Intercommunity saw Brandon Koser match Heck's perfect game.

Some of our local women did quite well last spring in the PSBA Women's Tournament hosted by our Lycoming County USBC Association. None was more successful than Natasha Bower, who finished in 21st place in handicap singles and in 31st place in scratch singles with a 651, as well as finishing in 15th place in handicap doubles with partner Joyce Snyder.

In the no-bowl scratch singles event, Gay Harris rolled a 625 to finish ninth. Finishing 48th in scratch All Events with an 1,864 was Danielle Barlet, who also teamed with Alicia Edkin to finish 33rd in scratch doubles with a 1,200. In handicap all events, Kathrine Cox finished in 67th place.

Hope to see you on the lanes.
