The Intercommunity League produced the top male and female scores in last week's action, where Steve Prince tossed an 807 series and Gay Harris tailed 637. Each of these top series included the week's top game with Harris posting a 236 while Prince rolled a 287.

This week we remember 1976 local Hall of Fame inductee Carolyn Havlichek, who served on the WWBA Board of Directors from the mid-1940s to the mid 1970s, serving as association president for four different seasons. Havlichek served as a delegate to the state convention at least a dozen times. Her most remembered duties however involved the Sylvania Bowling Tournament, which she helped initiate and continued to organize for more than 25 years.
Started in 1950, this annual tournament drew employees of Sylvania plants basically throughout Pennsylvania, to the Williamsport area.
Havlicek started her bowling career in 1938. A charter member of the local 600 club, chartered in 1957, she owned a career high series of 637, which won the WWBA high series award for the 1952-53 season. Her career-high average was 165 and her career high game was 245. In the 1940s, Havlichek's team took first place in the Class C team event at the state tournament and in 1956, Havlichek took first place in the singles scratch division in the city tournament.
