A trio of Williamsport players scored to propel Williamsport to a 3-0 win against Shamokin in boys soccer on Wednesday evening. Charlie Plummer, Isaac Balza and Trace Towns all found the back of the net while Connor Hofstrom had two assists.
The Millionaires’ back line did well not allowing Shamokin many chances as the Indians had just two shots and Max Fink had the shutout in the net.
Kyran Lisembee scored a goal in the 37th minute and Bodie Moyer played an outstanding game in goal as Muncy blanked North Penn-Liberty, 1-0. Moyer made sure Lisembee’s goal held up, making eight saves.
Hughesville scored three goals in the second half for a 5-0 win over Mifflinburg. Carter Gormont continued his outstanding season wtih a four-goal performance. Kellan Smith scored a goal while Landon Miller had two assists.
Lewisburg rifled 18 shots and earned a 4-0 win against Central Mountain. The Wildcats were held to one shot on goal as Gabe Pawling recorded another shutout.
Lewisburg saw Jack Kohl record two goals and an assist while Daedrian Campbell had a goal and assist and Keegan Crosby added a goal.
Warrior Run cruised past Southern Columbia, 7-0, thanks to scoring four goals in the final 40 minutes. Carter McCormick had a pair of goals while Ori Kennel, Josh Grenoble, Gavin Cromley, Jesse Butler and Colton Bailey all added goals.
Gideon Kennel and Julius Frombach had assists.
• Jersey Shore’s doubles teams delivered exciting three-set wins in the Bulldogs’ 3-2 loss against Danville. Azyln Guerrero and Kamryn Kowalski rallied after dropping a first-set tie-breaker and took the final two, 6-2, 10-7. After dropping the second set in a tie-breaker, the doubles team of Scarlett Hensler and Aubree Reichard stormed back and won the third set, 10-3, completing the doubles sweep.
Muncy suffered a 3-2 loss to Wellsboro. The Indians earned wins at No. 1 and No. 3 singles. Zoe Dohl beat Amanda Goncalves, 6-2, 6-2 and at No. 3 singles, Elizabeth Howard won in three sets against Serenity Mosher, 4-6, 6-2, 6-3.
Wellsboro’s Angie Cory and Kya Lawton won at No. 1 doubles over Alaina Krepnivech and Ruth Lauchle, 4-6, 6-2, 6-1.
• Julia Bidelspach, Mia Chapman and and Ella Magee all scored goals during the final 25 minutes, helping the Lycoming women’s soccer team rally for a 3-1 win against Elmira College. Chapman and Magee also produced assists. Chapman assisted Bidelspach on the equalizing goal; Magee fed Chapman for the go-ahead goal and Magee drilled home a free kick to help seal victory in the 87th minute. Lycoming produced 25 second-half shots.
Aliyah Stocks scored her first collegiate goal, but Bloomsburg scored three first-half goals and defeated the Mansfield, 4-1. Mikayla Britz assisted Stocks on the goal, a career-first for her as well.
Penn College played Ramapo to a 0-0 tie. The Wildcats put pressure on the Roadrunners late in the first half with five shots from 28:31 to 39:48 and earned a corner kick at 41:43, but came away empty. PCT kept Ramapo off the board in the second half, with Harley Oliphant making saves in the 70th and 81st minutes. Ella Garman put a shot on goal in the 63rd minute, and Rylee Oliphant added another attempt in the 74th before the Wildcats earned a corner in the 82nd. Neither side could find the golden opportunity and settled for a 0-0 draw.
• Scott Manning scored for Lock Haven, but No. 22 Gannon answered with two straight goals and won, 3-1 in men’s soccer. Manning’s goal tied the game in the 50th minute but Gannon went ahead to stay in the 72nd minute.
Penn College played Pitt.-Greensburg to a 1-1 tie. Pitt.-Greensburg struck first at the 33:53 mark and held a 1-0 advantage to the half as both teams combined for just two shots on-goal in the first 45 minutes. PCT found its chance and pulled even late in the second half when Scott Goldfeder knocked in the rebound at 80:54, tying the match at 1-1. The Wildcats kept pressure on after the equalizer, with Diego Diaz taking a shot and serving two corner kicks while Freddy Sahaydak and Christian Bressler each put shots on goal but were saved both times.
• Three Lycoming singles players won matches in the team’s 4-3 loss against Susquehanna. Sadie Stahl, Emma Dubnanasky and Anna Booze won at No. 1, No. 2 and No. 6 singles. Stahl and Dubnansky won in straight sets, while Booze won a three-set match, taking the third, 6-2.
• Goalie Hilary Clark made a career-high 17 saves in the Lycoming field hockey team’s 3-1 loss against Marywood. Sophomore Laurel Fite scored for the Warriors off a Carmen Hannon assist.
• Penn College fell to Elmira, 3-0, (19-25, 16-25, 22-25) in non-conference women’s volleyball. The Wildcats finished with 18 kills and a .111 hitting percentage, compared to the Soaring Eagles’ 30 kills and a .167 percentage. PCT dropped to 0-14 overall this season while Elmira moved to 1-9 overall.
The Wildcats’ main push came after Elmira built a 19-12 lead, as PCT won seven of the next eight rallies to make it 20-19. Peyton Maass served two aces during that stretch, while Lilly Stockum had three kills and Claire Roan added another. Elmira closed with the final five points to take the first set, 25-19.
