Lycoming suffered its second consecutive loss last Saturday, falling on the road to Dickinson, 40-21. After opening the year on a high note with a 17-7 win against The College of New Jersey, the Warriors have dropped below .500 (1-2) and are hoping to snap that losing skid.
That starts this afternoon with a 1 p.m. game against Rowan in Glassboro, New Jersey. Lycoming lost last year's matchup against Rowan at home, 34-23.
Against Dickinson last week, the Red Devils used a 20-point second quarter to take a 26-14 halftime lead and then scored 14 in the fourth to put the game away.
The Red Devils out-gained Lycoming in total yards, 546-347. It's the second consecutive game the Warriors' defense has given up more than 500 yards of total offense.
Ken Blassen had success passing against Lycoming as he went 21 for 31 with 250 yards and two touchdowns. And, on the ground, Dane Sorensen ran for 151 yards on 21 carries and had two rushing touchdowns while Jake WIlliams ran it 12 times for 64 yards and two touchdowns. Dickinson accounted for almost 300 yards rushing.
Spencer Ferguson led Lycoming with 65 rushing yards on 13 carries while Joe Lyons threw for 212, going 15 for 25 for a touchdown with two interceptions.
Rowan enters today's matchup with a 1-1 record after a 34-0 rout against Moravian last weekend. Rowan had success passing as Nate Maiers went 14 for 22 for 293 yards with four touchdowns.
Jackson Ferrante had nine tackles for Rowan while Justus Peyton, Ezra Williams-Thomas, AJ Ryker had six and CJ Carter and Amir Reason-Dallas had four each.
Lycoming will need to try and limit Maiers, who has thrown for 521 yards and six touchdowns.
