Holding Penn College to a .012 hitting percentage, the Lycoming College volleyball team posted a 3-0 (25-13, 25-19, 25-21) win to open the 2026 season at Bardo Gymnasium.
Sophomore Kamryn Skeith led the Warriors (1-0 overall) with nine kills, hitting .500, adding five assists and six digs. Senior Haley Balgavy added 12 assists and three aces and sophomore Emi Wenger added eight kills and two aces. Senior Alli Macensky (a Galeton graduate) posted six aces and sophomore Charlene Petreshock posted six kills and two aces.
Sophomore Lara DeFreitas led the defense with nine kills and senior Ima Mercado added eight, as Lycoming posted 40 kills and forced Penn College (0-1 overall) into 17 hitting errors and 15 reception errors.
Peyton Maass led the Wildcats with seven kills and four aces, Taryn Smith had eight assists and Eleana Falkner posted nine digs.
The win was the first in the career of first-year coach Hannah Lingold, a 2023 Lock Haven University graduate from Emmaus.

The Warriors get back on the court on Friday, Sept. 4, when they head to Gettysburg College's Battlefield Classic to face Bridgewater (Va.) for a 5:30 p.m., match.
