DAVE KENNEDY/Sun-Gazette Zion Hughes of Williamsport finds space to run against Shikellamy at Williamsport last week.

Selinsgrove PPG--21.0, PPA--19.3; YPG--221.3, YPA--211.5

Selinsgrove notes: Selinsgrove (2-2) is coming off a 44-0 thumping of Central Mountain and has not allowed a point in two home games. The Seals and Williamsport have played thrillers in Williamsport's first two HAC-I seasons. The road team has won each time, overcoming fourth quarter deficits on each occasion. Selinsgrove limited Central Mountain to 54 yards as Nash Fordyce and Andrew Gesumaria each collected two sacks. Selinsgrove opened the season in similar style, allowing 84 yards in a 23-0 win against three-time defending District 6 Class AAAA champion Juniata. Junior linebacker Owen Hoffman averages nine tackles per game and Max Sheltman has six tackles for loss. Fordyce also has an interception and caught a 44-yard touchdown against Central Mountain. Quarterback Rocco Amato is a three-year starter and threw for 137 yards and three touchdowns a week ago. Sophomore Isaac Thomas ran for 88 yards and two scores in his first start. Selinsgrove is fourth in the District 4 Class AAAA standings and the top four teams advance to the playoffs.

Selinsgrove player to watch--Jet Hollenbach: The sophomore linebacker is playing well in his first season starting. Hollenbach averages 7.3 tackles per game and has a tackle for loss in each contest. He also has intercepted a pass and recovered a fumble.

Williamsport PPG--42.0, PPA--25.0; YPG--438.3, YPA--377.8

Williamsport notes: Williamsport (3-1) erased an 11-point deficit in the final 2 ½ minutes a week ago before Shikellamy answered and won, 48-44, handing it its first loss. The Millionaires are hoping to build on the positives displayed throughout the gutsy comeback as they hold the grand opening for their new state of the art stadium tonight. Williamsport has hosted two previous games but tonight is the official opening as the Millionaires try strengthening their hold on District 2-4 Class 6A's top seed. Williamsport's offense has scored at least 34 points in all four games, topping 40 four times. The Millionaires lead the area in yards per game but are last in yards allowed. Zion Hughes moved from running back to quarterback in place of injured Tevin Williams last week and played a super game, throwing for 224 yards, running for 71 and totaling three touchdowns. Trey Damschroder caught five passes for 100 yards and a touchdown, also running for a score. Damschroder is third among area players in catches (21) and has caught a touchdown in all four games. Eli Weaver returned a fumble for a go-ahead touchdown late against Shikellamy and linebacker Anthony Manley leads the team with 9.5 tackles per game, adding four sacks. Cordoza Minor has a team-best five sacks and Kason Ulmer two. Jaylen Williams returned an interception 35 yards to set up Brayden Ungard's field goal last week.

Williamsport player to watch--Davahjei Dymeck: Following a big breakout sophomore season, Dymeck has continued flourishing and averages 8.3 tackles per game, making 23 solo stops. Dymeck made a perfect hit which forced the fumble which led to Weaver's dramatic touchdown against Shikellamy. It was the third fumble Dymeck has forced this season. The junior linebacker also has a sack and fumble recovery.

Outlook: The book on Selinsgrove-Williamsport games has been quite a page turner the last few years. Expect the latest chapter to be equally exciting.
