Williamsport played its first-ever night tennis match under the lights at its new courts near the high school on Wednesday evening and earned a tight 3-2 win against Jersey Shore on its senior night.
The Millionaires honored seniors Audrey Dincher, Caroline Pelly, Gabriella McQuillen, Gianna Vitko, Lauren Bogle, Lily Judge and Madelyn Lundy before the 7 p.m. tennis match.
At No. 1 singles, Dincher secured a 6-4, 6-4 win against Molly Dalton. Jersey Shore's Emily Shemory beat McQuillen at No.2 singles, 6-1, 6-4 and at No. 3 singles, it was Williamsport's Judge beating Rylee Allison, 6-0, 6-4.
At No.1 doubles, Williamsport's Vitko and Lundy teamed up to beat Kamryn Kowalsi and Aslyn Guerrero of Jersey Shore in a three-set match. Kowalsi and Guerrero won the first set, 6-3, before the Millionaires' duo rattled off 6-0, 6-3 wins to secure it in the third set.
At No.1 doubles, Jersey Shore's Zoe Lehman and Aubree Reichard beat Pelly and Bogle, 6-1, 6-3.
