South Williamsport
at Wyalusing
South (4-2) continues playing stifling defense and ranks first among District 4 teams in points (5.8) and yards (127.5) allowed per game. The Mounties took a shutout into the fourth quarter of last week’s impressive 28-6 win at Muncy and have not allowed more than 17 points in a game, shutting out three opponents.
Dominick Goode returned from injury last week and collected his fourth sack, while Kasim Davenport added another and Samir Moy and Cade Lusk intercepted passes. Caleb Johnson has broken up eight passes and Colton Paulhamus is tied with Lusk for the team lead in tackles. South allowed just 10 first-half yards at Muncy.
Lusk and Eli White are both among the area’s leading rushers and Garrett Lorson produced 88 yards with two touchdowns against Muncy. All three have run for at least 225 yards this season after all went over 400 yards last year. Cole Gerber was a 1,000-yard passer last year and Levi Butler has 79 catches over the past two seasons. South is fourth in the District 4 Class AA standings and will host a first-round playoff game if it stays among those top four.
Wyalusing (0-6) is having a rough season, scoring just two touchdowns and being shutout five times. The Rams are dressing fewer than 20 players and allowed 49 first-quarter points a week ago at Montgomery. Jacob Gromley ran for 86 yards and a touchdown two weeks ago against Sayre and Wiley Trombaugh threw for 76 yards and a touchdown.
Midd-West at Lewisburg
Lewisburg (3-3) has showcased its explosiveness the past two games, scoring 110 points and piling up 1,071 yards of offense. Quarterback Xavier Carter has flourished since returning from injury and threw for a district-best 351 yards and five touchdowns in last week’s 61-42 win at Loyalsock. Wide receiver Jaylen Walker had a monster game, scoring six touchdowns four ways and totaling 243 yards, along with his fifth interception and second special teams touchdown this year.
Drake Osunde also is having a big year at receiver and making opponents pay if they focus additional resources upon Walker. Osunde caught four passes for 156 yards against Loyalsock and also is among the area’s top 10 in receptions in yards. Freshman Ethan Coleman is coming on strong in the backfield, running for 180 yards and two touchdowns the past two weeks.
Owen Fellon also ran for a score last week and leads the team in tackles. Todd Dershem intercepted two passes at Loyalsock and also has caught touchdowns in consecutive games.
Midd-West (1-5) held a fourth quarter lead at Hughesville last week before the Spartans scored twice in the final eight minutes. The Mustangs are improved offensively this season and quarterback Witten Carter is 76 yards from reaching 1,000 this season. He would be the first Midd-West quarterback to reach that mark this decade.
D’Angelo Drumheller caught a 63-yard touchdown at Hughesville and Noah Kratzer ran for 120 yards and two touchdowns in a 66-0 win against CMVT.
Central Columbia at Milton
Milton (2-4) played a complete game against Northwest last week, not allowing an offensive point until the final minute and gaining a season-high 477 yards. The Black Panthers topped 200 rushing and passing yards as well with quarterbacks Kamryn Wilson and Paxton Humphrey each going over 100 yards and combining for 255.
Luis Santos ran for a career-high 167 yards against Northwest and Jhemzuel Feliciano and Brady O’Rourke each caught touchdowns. Feliciano’s three touchdowns have all come from 19 or more yards and Ja’Cori Brown caught three scores in a Week 2 win at Hughesville.
The defense has allowed just that one touchdown in two wins and O’Rourke and Schuyler Humphrey are among area leaders in tackles for loss. Linebacker Jackson Wertz also is having an outstanding season and Michael Runkle made 10 tackles against Northwest.
Central (0-6) is hoping for its first win in two years. The Blue Jays have lost 19 straight games since a 42-36 triple overtime victory against Milton late in the 2024 season. Owen Zanoline is a hard-nosed runner and has gained 323 yards, while also catching 11 passes. Freshman Blake Edgar ran for 111 yards in his high school debut against Loyalsock and Dominic Keller added 84 yards with two touchdowns in that game.
Mifflinburg at
Central Mountain
It’s a battle of Wildcats tonight with Mifflinburg (4-2) traveling to Mill Hall riding a three-game winning streak. Central Mountain (0-6) played its best game a week ago at Shikellamy, putting a scare into the five-win Braves and losing, 35-22. The Wildcats reached a season-high in points and also contained an explosive passing game which had put up big numbers in two previous wins.
Linebacker Kole Corman leads the area in tackles for a second straight season and needs 12 to reach 100 for a third consecutive year. Jacob Rembold averages 8.3 tackles per game and took an interception for a touchdown at Warrior Run, while Tanner McCall and Cade Watkins each have two sacks.

Seven Wildcat receivers have caught touchdowns and the defense generated five interceptions against Warrior Run. The defending District 4 Class AAA champions are second in the standings and Brady Threet and Isaiah Kurtz have scored defensive touchdowns.
Cowanesque Valley at Troy
CV (2-4) faces a tall order tonight against the three-time defending NTL-I champions. Despite being without standout linebacker/1,000-yard rusher Kegan Lane all season, CV won consecutive games in Weeks 4 and 5 and held a nine-point second half lead in the opener against Canton. The Indians were tied with Towanda in the second quarter last week before the Black Knights pulled away.
Gavin Churchill has thrown touchdowns in three straight games and Dave Hess leads the area in rushing with 569 yards. He also has three sacks and two interceptions. Cam Stahli has two interceptions and is a big-play threat in the passing game, averaging 18.8 yards per catch. Trenton Schaar collected three sacks two weeks ago at North Penn-Mansfield, while Justin Schaar did so at Wellsboro. Mason Wonderlich has provided a special teams weapon, kicking three field goals, the most by a CV player in the 2000s.
Troy (5-1) has won five straight since a season-opening loss against Montoursville and will be a heavy favorite in its final four games. The Trojans are headed for a fourth straight league title and have scored 97 points in their last two games. Quarterback Spencer Martin has formed a potent combination with Trey Teribury and threw for 241 first-half yards and three touchdowns two weeks ago at Wellsboro.
Troy is 34-2 over its last 36 regular season games and captured the 2024 Class AA state title. It also has reached three straight district championships.
N.P.-Mansfield at Athens
A week after playing the NTL-I’s best team, North Penn-Mansfield hits the road to play the second-place squad and maybe the most explosive. The Panthers start mostly underclassmen and junior Jeremiah Lawrence scored two touchdowns against Troy, including busting loose for a 77-yard score.
Sophomore quarterback Peyton Greene has shown promise and thrown six touchdowns. He played a fantastic game in Week 3 against Northwest, throwing for 188 yards and three touchdowns, while running for 128 yards and a score. Colton Pellett returned three kickoffs for touchdowns a year ago and has hauled in touchdowns in three of North Penn-Mansfield’s six games.
Conner Lewis caught five passes for 80 yards and a touchdown against Northwest. He also collected four sacks over the team’s first three games.
Athens (5-1) has won four straight games since a Week 2 loss against Troy. Senior quarterback Connor Davidson is one of the district’s best playmakers and is among the top 10 in passing and rushing yards. He has totaled 1,561 yards and 24 touchdowns, while intercepting five passes and returning a punt for a touchdown. Wide receiver Kade Rowe has topped 100 yards in consecutive games and he and Gage Marmor each have caught six touchdowns.
The defense shined a week ago against Wellsboro, allowing just 58 yards in a 44-0 win. Athens features an opportunistic defense, forcing 16 turnovers.
