WILLIAMSPORT – Nine regular-season matches into its time as a program, the Jersey Shore girls volleyball team officially picked up its first win on Tuesday. The Bulldogs defeated fellow first-year program St. John Neumann on the road, 3-0, sweeping the Golden Knights behind set scores of 25-10, 25-19 and 25-13.

“They’re (St. John Neumann) in the same boat as us, but we’re just a larger school,” said Jersey Shore volleyball head coach Joshua Smith. “I’m hoping this helps because we have a match on Thursday. I’m hoping they now know they can actually win one.”

The Bulldogs return to action at home on Thursday, playing host to Juniata (1-12) at 6 p.m. There, they hope to carry the momentum from Tuesday’s win into another.
