Today we remember 2006 local Hall of Fame inductee Andrew Tressler, who served on the local association board of directors for more than 25 years between the early 1990s and 2019. He was elected the first president of the new Lycoming County USBC Association in 2018.

Born in Williamsport in 1941, Tressler grew up in the bowling lanes managed by his father in Alexandria, Va., where he bowled his first 700 series at age 16. By age 17, he was an American Junior Bowling Congress Instructor, helping get junior bowling started in that area. In the early 1960s, Tressler won high average for four years in a row in military leagues before returning to Williamsport in 1968.

For many years, he was a local organizer for tournaments, taking local bowlers to tournaments such as the Lilac, Dutchman, PSBA Open, Seniors, and Mixed, as well as the ABC National.

Tressler averaged above 200 every season between 1983 and 2006, posting his career high average of 221, during the 1984-85 season. With a career high career series of 792, Tressler also had games of 300, 299 and 298.

Hope to see you on the lanes.
