Last week in the Monday Night Classic League, Jim King fired an 804, the first 800 series of his career, claiming male Bowler of the Week honors in the process. Female Bowler of the Week was Danielle Barlet, who shot a 744 in the Thursday Night Bowling League to outpace the 726 series that were posted by Rebeka Zondory in the Monday Night Classic and Sandra Confer in the Intercommunity League.
Nipping at King's heels were Shawn Pepperman with an 803 and John Heck Jr. with an 800 on the nose, both in the Monday Night Classic, which saw three 800 series for the second week in a row. Not too far behind Zondory and Confer was Amanda Heck with a 703 in the Intercommunity.
Confer built her 726 series around a 278, which proved to be the women's high game of the week. King's high series included a 300 game, which was matched by Cody Daldo in the Monday Night Classic and Heck Jr in the Intercommunity. Honorable mentions go to Tim Day in the Monday Night Classic and Logan Burkett in the Thursday Night Bowling League, both of whom tossed a 299 game.

You may already know that Lena Meckley was the first local woman to bowl a sanctioned 700 series when she rolled a 701 on April 30, 1969, and Jennie Eiswerth was the first local woman to bowl a sanctioned 300 game, when she threw 12 consecutive strikes in a game on Sept. 9, 1984. What you probably don't know is that back in 1943, while open bowling at the local Moose Lanes, a 24-year-old woman by the name of Rosemary Clinefelder, who had only been bowling for two years, bowled a 717 series on the strength of a 300 game.
Of course, her scores were not sanctioned since they were not bowled in a league or any other officially sanctioned competition, and therefore did not qualify for local association records. Although she was a member of the Moose Girls League, Clinefelder's average at the time has apparently been lost to history.
Hope to see you on the lanes.
