Local roundup: Khaya Bennett scores twice in Montoursville’s win vs. Danville

Khaya Bennett scored a pair of goals to help Montoursville's girls soccer team defeat Danville at home, 5-0. Addy Montgomery, Faith Berwanger and Regan Aguirre all added goals. Elyse Boyle had a pair of assists and Elliana Eck had one.
Williamsport won at home over Shamokin, 2-0. Brnyli Carnevale scored both goals for the Millionaires while Ella Brelsford and Kate Wiley had assists. In goal, Hannah Baird had two saves to preserve the shutout victory.
Wellsboro scored six goals in the first half en route to a dominating 7-0 win against Williamson at home. Haylie Smith recorded a hat trick while Megan Newrock and Rylee Coolidge both had a goal and assist. Jadyn Dunlap recorded another shutout, recording four saves.
Milton and Jersey Shore battled to a scoreless draw. Milton out-shot the Bulldogs 13-6, but Kaia Notevarp came up big in goal, preventing Milton from putting in a goal. Delia Reynolds-Miller had six saves for Milton.
Warrior Run's Scarlett Dunkleberger scored twice to help the Defenders secure a close 2-1 win against Midd-West on the road. Nat Hall had an assist for Warrior Run. Addison Yerg scored Midd-West's lone goal.
• Williamsport's offense spread the ball around as four players found the back of the net ina 4-1 win against Danville in boys soccer. Peyton Douglass, Connor Hofstrom, Tyiere Pralour and Isaac Balza all scored.
Williamsport's Spencer Kaar, Johannes van Emrik and Hofstrom all had assists as well in the win.
Despite a 14-2 edge in shots, Loyalsock couldn't put a goal in and the Lancers and Shikellamy drew to a scoreless draw after 80 minutes of play. The Lancers moved to 9-6-2 as the regular-season draws to a close.
Milton blanked Jersey Shore, 7-0. Tobin Strous recorded a hat trick in addition to dishing out a pair of assists. Orrie Godown had two goals and two assists and Caleb Langdon scored.
Milton also saw assists from Gabe Heise and Coltin Dauberman.
Williamson defeated Wellsboro, 1-0, in an NTL showdown. Maddox Hartman scored the game's lone goal with an assist by Reed Vargeson.
• In girls volleyball, • In girls volleyball, Hughesville secured a win against Midd-West to secure a District 4 playoff berth. Ella Mowrey had 14 digs, seven assists and seven kills and Anna Easton had 14 digs, six kills, three assists and two aces. Elizabeth Papapanu had six kills, six aces, four digs, a block and an assist.
Kierra Sheets had seven digs for Hughesville with four kills and an ace and Davanee Hoover had four digs, two aces and one kill.
North Penn-Liberty fell to Troy, 3-1 (27-25, 28-26, 21-25, 25-23), Liberty's senior outside hitter Gabby Bubeck recorded her 500th dig in the match.
Bubeck had a team-high 31 digs while Maddie McNamara had 24 and Maddison Smith recorded 20. Maddison Smith had 27 assists and Lilly McNamara led Liberty with 13 kills while Bubeck had 10. Lilly McNamara also recorded 22 service receptions, as did Bubeck. Maddie McNamara had 21.
