Local roundup: Muncy’s Eyer records her 50th career assist in win

Muncy senior Ava Eyer joined a select group Wednesday, collecting her 50th career assist as Muncy blanked CMVT, 13-0. Eyer dazzled throughout the game, producing seven assists and scoring a goal.

Eyer had a hand in seven straight goals at one point as the defending District 4 Class A champions dominated from the start. Kiki Woodward scored five goals and assisted on Eyer's goal, while Eva Nagel and Harleigh Miller scored twice. Zoe Kunkle, Amelia Beckman and Alexis Girven also scored.

Scarlett Dunkleberger had a hat trick to give Warrior Run a 6-0 win against Mifflinburg to snap a four-game losing streak for the Defenders.

South Williamsport ended an 80-minute contest with a 1-1 draw vs. Mid-Penn foe Millville. Kloey Persun scored for the Mounties, who move to 5-4-3.

• Patrick Stine had two goals and an assist to propel Hughesville past Southern Columbia in boys soccer, 3-1. Carter Gormont had an assist, as did Malakei Kranz, and Brody McConnell put in a goal.

Connor Hofstrom recorded a hat trick as Williamsport secured a 4-0 win against Mifflinburg on the road to improve to 9-4. Isaac Balza had a goal and assist and Hofstrom and Peyton Douglas both dished out assists.

Max Fink had a save in goal and preserved the shutout.

Jersey Shore earned a 3-1 win against Shikellamy thanks to a hat trick from Dylan Hensler. Shikellamy tied the game up at 1-1 before Shore went ahead for good. Dekin McDermit had a pair of assists and Sean Higgs had one.

Warrior Run suffered a narrow 2-1 loss to Midd-West. The Defenders held a 1-0 lead at halftime before Midd-West scored a pair of second-half goals to win.

Carter McCormick scored for Warrior Run and Ori Kennel dished out an assist.

• Loyalsock beat Bloomsburg, 5-0, on the road in girls tennis to end the regular season at 17-1. Emily Crawford defeated Suhani Vishwakarma, 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 singles.

At No. 2 singles, Caroline Crawford defeated Harshita Choyai, 6-0, 6-0 and at No. 3 singles, Vivian Reem beat Josslyn Robertson, 6-0, 6-0. Both of Loyalsock's doubles victories were via forfeits.

Montgomery and Muncy played a thrilling tennis match for a second time this season and, in a reversal of that first time, Montgomery won, 3-2. Leanne Foquest and Maddie Hamm helped clinch victory with a three-set win at No. 1 singles, taking the first and third sets. Sophia Snyder and Kim Huynh also won in doubles, while Avelyn Moore took the No. 3 singles matches. Zoe Dohl and Lola Fox won for Muncy, Fox taking her match in three sets.

• Williamsport earned a 3-0 win in girls volleyball against Midd-West on the road (25-12, 25-10, 25-13). Ava Fischer had a team-high 13 serving points and geiani Whaley had 10. Fischer led Williamsport with eight kills, E'gypt Ringkamp had seven and Pippy Kieser had four while Peyton Dincher recorded three. Libby Radspinner led Williamsport with 11 assists and Dincher recorded six. Kieser and Molly Roan both had seven digs while Ellie Kinley had four.

Central Columbia defeated Loyalsock in five sets, 3-2 (22-25, 25-27, 25-18, 26-24, 15-11). The Lancers' Aly Hughes had a team-high 13 assists, eight kills, four digs, had an assisted block and an ace.

Sarah Hodrick had seven assists and Peyton Phillips had one. Hodrick also had seven kills while Phillips had eight, Madi Mercaldo had seven, Maddy Williams had four and Gia Mertes had three.

Sophia Wetzel had nine digs, Mertes had four, Ria Vincenzes and Hodrick both had three and Mercaldo and Maddy Williams had one.

Phillips had two solo blocks and Mercaldo led the team wtih five aces.

Central Mountain defeated Lewisburg, 3-0 (25-18, 25-18, 25-17). Ella Vance had 10 kills, 10 digs and an ace for the Green Dragons while Claire Chandler had 17 assists and two aces. Maya Bronner had six kills and an ace and Brooke Leuber had three kills.

Montoursville defeated Shamokin, 3-1 (25-17, 25-22, 17-25, 25-14). Laney Yonkin had 11 kills and Rylee Reeder recorded eight. Emma Ammerman had an impressive 21 digs while Reeder had eight and Yonkin and March Manotti both had seven.

• Collen Lloyd figured into every Lock Haven goal, scoring twice and adding two assists as the Bald Eagles blanked Mansfield, 4-0 in women's soccer. Lock Haven (7-4-2) remained unbeaten in seven home games. Lloyd opened the scoring in the 28th minute, scoring off a Bryn Constanzer assist. Costanzer and Brooke Gehret also produced goals.

The Lycoming College women's soccer team fell to Scranton, 4-0, in Landmark Conference play.

The Warriors (4-5-1 overall, 0-2-1 Landmark) finished with six shots, while sophomore Leah Elliott recorded a career-high 10 saves over 90 minutes. Elliott made five saves in each half, and the total was a season high for the Warriors. Junior Ella Magee led Lycoming with two shots.

• Noah Brady scored the game-tying goal in the 38th minute, helping Lock Haven's men's soccer team earn a 1-1 draw against Pitt-Johnstown. Lock Haven (2-3-7, 1-1-2 PSAC) controlled much of the action, outshooting Pitt-Johnstown, 20-5. It also produced 11 corner kicks.

A late goal was the difference as the Lycoming College men's soccer team fell, 1-0, to 16th-ranked Scranton in Landmark Conference action. After an evenly-played, back-and-forth match, the Royals scored the deciding goal in the 82nd minute when Luke Roberto scored off a Alex Kozdron corner kick.
