Millionaires see success at Paul Short Invitational at Lehigh

Williamsport's girls cross country team saw success at the Paul Short Invitational at Lehigh University. The girls took third as a team out of 11 high school teams from Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Delaware and Maryland competing at the invitational.
Izzy Sanders took third, Maddie Sanders took eighth and Loisa Hofstrom took 16th on the girls side. Clara Wade, Lola Kastner, Johanna Pelly and Faith Hale also turned in solid performances.
Izzy Sanders ran a time of 18:14.90 and was behind only Daniel Boone senior Julia Leady (17:35.80) and Wellsboro senior Lauren Kosek (17:52.10).
Madeline Sanders, a senior, ran a time of 18:51.70. Hofstrom finished in 19:10.10.
Williamsport competed in the Girls HS Gold 5K competition.
Hughesville's Emelia Wolfe finished seventh in 19:10.00 in the Girls HS Brown 5K competition.
Hughesville's Wyatt Laubacher finished 22nd in the Boys HS Gold 5K competition at the invitational division as the senior Spartan ran 10:31.80. He was the area's highest placing runner on the boys side in any of the divisions.
In the Boys HS White 5K competition, South Williamsport's Spencer Beatty took 26th with a time of 17:39.00.
