The District 4 girls tennis doubles tournament gets underway on Saturday morning at Williamsport High School beginning at 9 a.m. and numerous local players are hoping to advance to Monday's semifinals.
The first three rounds will be played Saturday with the semifinals and finals beginning at 1 p.m. at the Central PA Tennis Center on Monday afternoon.
Loyalsock's Caroline Crawford, who's playing with her sister Emily this year, is looking to win her second career doubles title after taking it with Anna Hall in 2023.
Earning the top seed in the tournament is Loyalsock's team of Emily and Caroline Crawford. They will play Towanda's Dalila Vega and Natalee Hicks. Montgomery's Leaune Fouyette and Laine Solano will play Central Columbia's Savana Thomas and Sydney Barrry.
Danville's Siyah Bhanushali and Chetna Chaugan compete against Jersey Shore's Molly Dalton and Emily Shemory. Milton's Makenna Wallace and Lilley Tillson will face Lewisburg's Lylah Shuey and Isa Kokoruda. That Green Dragons' duo is seeded eighth.
Fifth-seeded Talia Saka and Caroline Hicks of Hughesville play Mifflinburg's Breonna ZImmerman and Mary Turner. North Penn-Liberty's Marissa Bradford and Khloe Heichel will face Montoursville's Elsa Kehrer and Makenna Vought.
South Williamsport's Peyton Coolidge and Carly Loudenslager will face Wellsboro's Angie Cory and Kyleigh Lynn. Muncy's Alaina Krepinevich and Ruth Lauchle will compete against fourth-seeded Alexis Hoot and Madison Maneval of Selinsgrove.
On the bottom portion of the bracket, Central Columbia's Cassandra Marte and Zoe Seely are seeded No. 3 and face Selinsgrove's Talia Mowery and Ashlyn Lehman. Loyalsock's Vivian Reem and Lashlyn Sauers will compete vs. Montoursville's Mya Wilson and Laurel Calvert. Lewisburg's Hailey Exley and Adelyn Conner will face Hughesville's Shelby Myers and Naomi Farley.
Milton's Madison Coup and Elliot Brosious compete against Wellsboro's Amanda Goncalves and Piper Anderegg, seeded sixth.
Seventh-seeded Ava Foote and Morgan Ertel of South Williamsport compete against Muncy's Elizabeth Howard and Aly Eck. Montgomery's Emily Miller and Arrianna Snyder will face Mifflinburg's Alice Grill and holly Swartz.
Jersey Shore's Rylee Allison and Kamryn Kowalski face Bloomsburg's Suhani Vishwakarma and Harshita Choyal and North Penn-Liberty's Karley Hess and Caroline Cummings have a matchup against second-seeded Alexa Preis and Ellen Pena of Danville.
Montgomery's Cali Barnes and Madisyn Miller won last year's District 4 doubles title. A Lycoming County duo has won the past four doubles titles with Hughesville's Annika Bruder and Georgia Randall winning in 2024, Loyalsock's Anna Halla dn Caroline Crawford winning in 2023 and Montoursville's Kara Mann and Alaina Marchioni winning in 2022.
The last pair outside of Lycoming County to win the doubles crown was Selinsgrove's Fionna Finnerty and Avery DeFazio in 2021.
