Run game propels Coudersport football past Bucktail, 41-14

Missed tackles have been an issue for a young Bucktail team and unfortunately for the Bucks, the Coudersport Falcons ran, a lot. The Falcons served up a heavy dose of Christian Driskell, as Coudersport rolled to a 41-14 win.

Driskell took the ball for 221 yards on 28 carries and scored a pair of touchdowns. AJ Adkins also scored twice as he ran 12 times for 88 yards as the duo eclipsed 300 yards on the ground.

The Bucks played maybe their best first half of the season, keeping the score 14-6 at the break and maybe their best game to date. A few big plays just continue to affect the final score.

"We played really well, we're missing some guys due to injuries so we had a lot to overcome last night" said head coach Bruce Ransom. Stevie and Joey Heiser were both out, with Steve the team's most prolific power back. JJ Ditty had to come out early in the second half of the loss to the Falcons.

"Being short-handed was tough, but we played well on both sides, it was a hard-nosed game and those couple of big plays that we gave up we just couldn't recover from" Ransom said of his team. "We'll look to get healed up here over the next couple of weeks, our excitement level as a team was right where it should have been down to the final whistle.”

Corbin Pentz again hooked up with Teagan Stone for a passing touchdown and Levi Stevenson ran in the second Bucktail score. Pat Tarantella ran in a two-point conversion. Ransom complimented the balanced offense and noted sophomore Pentz had no turnovers

The Bucks (0-5) are off this Friday night before then hosting Coudersport Oct. 16, it will be Bucktail's first home game since Sept. 18.

Coudersport (2-4) will host Smethport this Friday before their re-match with the Bucks.
