Shamokin dominates against Central Mountain for 55-0 win in Mill Hall

MILL HALL — Shamokin was poised to turn in a more sound post-Jersey Shore performance than it did last year. It’s safe to assume the bus ride home from Clinton County was more pleasant this time, as the Indians moved the ball with ease and didn’t let Central Mountain’s offense do much of anything en route to a no-doubter, 55-0 victory on Friday. By halftime, the Indians (5-0) had already scored seven touchdowns and produced 324 yards of total offense, while the starting defense limited the struggling Wildcats (0-5) to net negative-4 yards. “We really feel like we have the ...

Hughesville earns first win of year by beating Northwest 21-0

SHICKSHINNY - Entering Friday’s game at Northwest at 0-4 and having scored just 17 points in its first four games, Hughesville might not have looked like it had much of a shot on paper against a Ranger team that entered the game 4-0, having outscored its first four opponents 176-68. But as the saying goes, that is why they play the games. Despite being outplayed in the first half, Hughesville managed to keep Northwest off the scoreboard and then flipped the script in the second half. Two key second half turnovers by Northwest led to a pair of Hughesville touchdowns, and the ...

Jersey Shore falls to Shikellamy on the road in Week 5

Taking advantage of early Shore mistakes apexing with a 24-point differential in the fourth quarter, the Braves stunned the Jersey Shore Bulldogs, 56-27, at Shikellamy Stadium on Friday night. The win marks ...

Heintschel throws 6 TDs as Pittsburgh cruises past Bucknell 59-0

PITTSBURGH (AP) — Mason Heintschel passed for 403 yards and six touchdowns, and Pittsburgh remained perfect by rolling past Bucknell 59-0 on Saturday. The Panthers (4-0) reached the end zone on each of their first five drives, as Heintschel spread the ball around on an afternoon that Pitt tried to fine-tune some things before heading into the teeth of its ACC schedule. Heintschel completed 29 of 37 in just over two quarters of work. The sophomore connected with nine different receivers. His six scoring throws fell one short of the ACC and program record of seven he set in a ...
