Bucknell looks to snap skid with home game vs. Lafayette

Bucknell’s offensive woes continued last week with a 21-14 loss against Georgetown in Washington, D.C. It’s the fourth consecutive game where the Bison scored 14 or fewer points. The Bison are 1-5 this year and have lost three in a row and are hoping to snap a skid and turn things around this week as Bucknell has another Patriot League matchup, this time hosting Lafayette at Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium at 3 p.m. Against the Hoyas last week, Bucknell and Georgetown were tied 14-14 at halftime and Bucknell trailed just 21-14 through majority of the second half. But the Bison ...

Williamsport picks up 28-0 win on the road in Berwick

Not much had gone right for Williamsport in Friday night’s first half on the road at Berwick. The Millionaires were staring at potentially going down by seven with under 90 seconds to play in the second quarter. Berwick had a fourth-and-goal at the 1 and given the way the Bulldogs had been able to run the ball so far, it was a safe bet they’d score. But Williamsport’s defense stood tall, stuffing Brock Simms just inches short of the goal line. A few plays later, Tevin Williams marked his return in a big way, throwing a 74-yard touchdown pass to Zion Hughes as Williamsport ...

Muncy keeps North Penn-Mansfield winless with a shutout home win

MUNCY — The only question Friday night when Muncy hosted North Penn-Mansfield was the final margin of victory, and that became apparent from the game’s first offensive play. After the opening kickoff went out of bounds and gave the Panthers strong field position, the Indians pounced on ...

Bucknell football suffers home loss to Lafayette 20-7

LEWISBURG — Lafayette put up 17 unanswered points to defeat Bucknell football 20-7 and earn its first Patriot League win of the season. With the loss, the Bison fell to 1-6 overall and 0-4 in the league.  The first half saw a lot of good defense throughout with each team putting together one solid offensive drive that ended in a touchdown. The Leopards earned a 10-7 advantage, due to a muffed fair catch by the Bison that the Leopards picked up and turned into a field goal. The second half was all Lafayette as the Leopards out-paced the Bison 10-0. Bucknell's defense came out with ...

Bloomsburg earns exciting 36-32 win against Lewisburg in Milton

MILTON - After a 1-3 start to its season, Lewisburg had won three straight entering Friday’s game against Bloomsburg, and the Green Dragons had an opportunity to make a statement against the Panthers, who entered the game undefeated and in the top spot in the District 4 Class AA standings. And at times, it seemed like Lewisburg would be able to do just that. But an ill-timed late interception gave Bloomsburg the ball back in a back-and-forth game with under three minutes to play, and after picking up a pair of first downs, the Panthers were able to run out the clock and escape with ...
