Lycoming County one new COVID-19 case

Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Health today confirmed as of 12:00 a.m., May 17, that there are 623 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 62,234. All 67 counties in Pennsylvania have cases of COVID-19.

Lycoming County has had 147 positive cases and 12 deaths to date, Clinton 44 cases, Sullivan two cases and Tioga 16 cases.

Today, the state is reporting 4,418 total deaths, an increase of 15 new deaths

In nursing and personal care homes, there are 13,447 resident cases of COVID-19, and 2,091 cases among employees, for a total of 15,447 at 558 distinct facilities in 45 counties. Out of our total deaths, 3,057 have occurred in residents from nursing or personal care facilities.

Lycoming County has had, according to today’s total from the state, 72 nursing/personal residents that have tested positive and 14 staff to date.

The state Department of Health bases its numbers on the address the patient had last disclosed to state licensing, regardless of where they died or if they had moved without updating their license.

There are 270,670 patients who have tested negative to date. Lycoming County has had 1714 test negative to date.
