Texas Roadhouse coming to Loyalsock Township

A Texas Roadhouse restaurant will be built on land where a vacant Ruby Tuesday is located in Loyalsock Township on the Golden Strip.

Texas Roadhouse restaurant officials said they are working on final approvals on the closed Ruby Tuesday site on East Third Street.

Once the township supervisors review the land development plan and approve it, the restaurant officials will work with the landlord to get permits rolling, said Jeff Augustus, a Texas Roadhouse Restaurant spokesman for this region.

It’s too early to figure out an opening date as of now, but most likely not until 2022, Augustus said.

The proposal has been discussed by township supervisors and plans are to move ahead, said Bill Burdett, township manager.

The plan is to raze the existing building, Burdett said.

Texas Roadhouse opened its doors in 1993. Since then, the company has grown to more than 611 locations in 49 states and 28 international locations in ten foreign countries.

Texas Roadhouse is famous for its hand-cut steaks, fall-off-the-bone ribs, made-from-scratch sides, and fresh-baked bread, according to their corporate website.
