LOYALSOCK TOWNSHIP-The Loyalsock Township supervisors recently approved a land development plan for the Texas Roadhouse restaurant at the former Ruby Tuesday site.

The land development plan for the restaurant at 1940 East Third St. was approved by Supervisors Marc Sortman, chairman; Paul Nyman, John Bower Jr., Rick Wheeland and Virginia Eaton.

The land development plan was approved on the condition that Larson Design Group review and answer the site stormwater management plan and updates on the plan.

Representatives of the restaurant were at the meeting Tuesday night. Restaurant officials said the construction will begin once there are all clearances and told the Sun-Gazette the opening of the restaurant would likely take place next year.

Bill Burdett, township manager, said to help with the township stormwater management plan the township has agreed to install a small retention pond to the rear of the restaurant.

It would collect water flow from the parking lot. The site has an existing stormwater retention pond in the front as well.

Supervisors were told at the meeting by the township zoning officer there will be adequate parking and some shared spaces with the adjacent property owner, a Harley-Davidson retailer.

Sortman thanked the representatives including the design engineers of the restaurant for choosing the township.
