Carr’s Trailers & Supplies, located at 1739 John Brady Drive, Muncy, serves transportation needs to North Central Pennsylvania and beyond.

A family owned and operated business, Carrs is managed by Richard Cihanowyz and his son Rich Jr.

Cihanowyz started the business in 2004, after moving to Williamsport from New Jersey with his family.

“We were doing something like this in New Jersey, and then my son ended up going to school at Penn Tech at the time,” Richard Cihanowyz, owner, said. “I fell in love with the area. I decided to sell everything in New Jersey and move the clan out here. Different area, different people, beautiful scenery, better opportunities,” Cihanowyz said.

“My right hand man who’s not here right now is my son. He’s over in Egypt with the Pennsylvania National Guard out of Williamsport. So he’s not here until next year,” Cihanowyz said.

Carrs offers a variety of services and products including trailer sales, rentals, accessories, moving supplies, vehicle rentals, vehicle towing and more.

“We service other people’s trailers. We also sell parts, if someone wants to do it himself, we will sell him parts. We also have a large tow truck business. We run out of here,” Cihanowyz said.

The business also provides customized trailers to its customers.

“We’re big into aluminum trailers, we sell a lot of them. I designed some of them, but I have the manufacturers make them for me the way I want them — I customize them to the customer’s needs. I stand between the customer and the manufacturers,” Cihanowyz said.

“And a lot of car hauling trailers. So if you have a hot rod, or you know, you’d like to move your specialty car

someplace, we have trailers for that,” Cihanowyz said.

Over the years, the business has expanded.

“In New Jersey, I had 9 parking spots — Here, I said I would never run out of room. …We’re probably up to about 20 acres of trailers now,” Cihanowyz said.

The office location is connected to an open garage and 20 acres of land, making the indoor/outdoor location a comfortable experience for both customers and Carr’s employees.

“I like to breathe fresh air. I like to go outside with the customers, with the showroom stuff. Come back inside. If it’s raining at least you got protection,” Cihanowyz said. “It’s a nice experience for the customer, which is a nice experience for us, because it’s something that makes their life better.”

Cihanowyz is a longtime member of The Chamber of Commerce.

“I really appreciate the Williamsport Chamber of Commerce. I come to this from New Jersey. I didn’t know anybody. Vince Matteo, the President at the time, just shook my hand and made me feel part of the family almost immediately. And introduced me to who I should know and contact. Being a member of the chamber has been a real asset to us,” Cihanowyz said.

“You’ve got to be part of the community to know what’s going on. It’s like a connection between the community and the government,” Cihanowyz said.
