Lycoming announced on Tuesday afternoon in a press conference that it will be naming the football stadium Girardi Stadium. The official unveiling will be during Lycoming’s home game on Sept. 9, 2023. The titular Frank Girardi, Lycoming coach Mike Clark and Lycoming President Kent Trachte were all in attendance to give remarks outside of the football field.

Girardi coached at Lycoming from 1972-2007, amassing 257 wins, 13 conference champions, appeared in 11 NCAA Tournaments and twice reached the NCAA Division III championship game. He was a 2016 inductee into the College Football Hall of Fame.
