Overturned truck on Route 15 spur

HAZARDOUS ROAD CONDITIONS IN THE REGION proved too much for some drivers as the Lycoming County 911 dispatch center handled several crash calls on Saturday afternoon, including this one on the Route 15 South spur in the city, where a tractor-trailer truck overturned about 2:15 p.m.

A state Department of Transportation employee and a city police officer, both whom were behind the rig, witnessed the crash. The PennDOT employee and the officer, along with another passerby, assisted in helping the driver out of the cab. He was not injured, city fire officials said.

About 15 minutes after this accident, a vehicle plowed in utility pole the 1300 block of Cemetery Road in Loyalsock Township. An adult and three juveniles were taken to the hospital for minor injuries, according to reports at the scene.

Other crashes were reported on Interstate 180 in Fairfield Township, where a car went into a guardrail, a woman was taken to Geisinger Pennsdale by ambulance; the 40 block of Broad Street in Montgomery, where a vehicle hit a fire hydrant, no reported injuries; Wallis Run and Southard roads, Gamble Township, no injuries: Lycoming Mall Drive and Rawle Street, Fairfield Township, no injuries; and the 1900 block of West Fourth Street that involved a tractor-trailer truck and a Jeep, no injuries.
