After waiving his preliminary hearing before District Judge Gary Whiteman, Troy V. Matty, 41, of 2894 Route 864, Montoursville, will face further court action on state police charges of strangulation, simple assault and harassment that stem from a domestic disturbance with his girlfriend who he placed in a headlock, "applying pressure to her neck (thereby) restricting her breathing" in their Upper Fairfield Township home about 6:45 a.m. on May 7, it was alleged in an affidavit.
While the woman was on the floor, Matty began punching and kicking her, the affidavit stated. Initially locked up in the Lycoming County Prison, Matty is now free on $10,000 bail.
