Tyler Smith, 23, of 45 Amanda Ave., Linden, has been charged with simple assault, disorderly conduct and harassment after he attacked Derrick Creamer during an argument inside a convenience, 5676 Route 15, in Clinton Township about 5 p.m. on March 31, state police alleged.
After punching Creamer in the head and body slamming him to the floor, knocking him unconscious, Smith allegedly punched him three more times, police were told. Both men "dislike one another and have had altercations in the past," police said they were told.
Although knocked unconscious, Creamer's injuries were not serious, and he was soon discharged from the hospital, police said.
Smith has waived his preliminary hearing and is free on $5,000 bail.
