When Steven Ray Barner Jr. suddenly left 937 Nices Hollow Road in Porter Township sometime this past autumn, he took with him a pellet stove that belonged to the landlords, Dennis and Crystal Koons, Lycoming Regional police alleged in an affidavit. The couple reported the theft in early November after they discovered a photo on social media of Barner selling the stove, police said. Upon being questioned, Barner, 34, of Lock Haven, admitted to selling the stove to a friend for $250, police said. Charged with theft and receiving stolen property, Barner was held for court last week on both charges following a hearing last week before Dieter and is free on $10,000 bail.
