Game commission lodges charges against Williamsport teen
While driving a pickup truck in the 500 block of Arch Street in Williamsport during the early morning hours of March 8, Mark Edward Kimble Jr. “chased down two whitetail deer with his vehicle and killed one of them,” state Game Warden Benjamin Fromm II alleged in an affidavit. Kimble, 19, of 320 Schoolhouse Road, Williamsport, “caught up with one of the deer, intentionally and maliciously ran over it, breaking its legs and neck, eventually killing it.” the warden wrote in the court document.
“It is unlawful to operate any vehicle for killing, taking or attempting to kill any big game or wildlife by using the rays of any artificial light,” Fromm said. Kimble faces misdemeanor charges of unlawful killing of big game, unlawful use of lights while hunting plus four summary violations. “This is Kimble’s second or third violation of unlawful killing or taking of big game in a seven-year period,” the warden said. Following his arraignment before District Judge Christian Frey, Kimble, who has waived his preliminary hearing was initially jailed in lieu of $50,000
