At least three Old Lycoming Township residents were displaced when a two-alarm fire broke out in a one-story four-unit apartment building at 1927 Princeton Ave. about 2 p.m. Tuesday, Joseph Hope, the township’s deputy fire chief, said. The fire, ruled electrical in nature, broke out in a vacant apartment that contractors were renovating, Hope said. The were were no reports of injuries. It took about an hour to bring the fire under control.
The American Red Cross was assisting the displaced tenants, and damage was at least $50,000, he said. Lycoming Regional Patrolwoman Shyanne Hughes was credited with getting occupants safely out of the building.
