Muncy man allegedly hid fugitive girlfriend in his home

Logan J. Bennett, 24, of 24 W. Water St., Muncy, will face further court action on charges of hindering apprehension and possession of marijuana following a preliminary hearing before District Judge Kirsten Gardner. The judge determined there was sufficient evidence to hold Bennett on both charges that were filed by the county’s Narcotics Enforcement Unit and stem from an incident at his home on April 15 when he knowingly allowed his fugitive girlfriend Tyrennie Aunkst to hide in an upstairs bedroom. When investigators came to the house looking for her, Bennett said she was not there, it was stated in an affidavit. However, they found Aunkst in the closet after receiving a tip. While looking for Aunkst, law enforcement discovered marijuana and drug paraphernalia in the home. Being sought on a bench warrant, Aunkst, 38, was automatically placed in the Lycoming County Prison, but has since been released. Bennett is free on $5,000 bail.
