As she brandished a knife in her hand during a disturbance in the couple’s apartment at 925 W. Fourth St. about 1:15 p.m. on Saturday, Branejah Ashley asked her boyfriend “Do you want to die,” it was alleged in a city police affidavit. Using the knife, the 22-year-old woman started cutting the man’s shirt off, police said, adding that the two made their way outside, where Ashley is alleged to have struck the man in the face with her hand. Following her arraignment before District Judge Christian Frey on charges of terroristic threats, simple assault and harassment, Ashley was initially jailed, but has since been released on $7,500 bail.
