Man injured in three-vehicle crash in Williamsport

A violent three-vehicle crash sent one driver to UPMC Williamsport to get treated for injuries he suffered in the collision at Washington Boulevard and Packer Street about 12:50 p.m. Saturday, city police said.

Driving a Ford Ranger pickup truck, Michael Wishon, 60, of 150 Selkirk Road, was traveling

south on Packer Street when his vehicle and a GMC Acadia driven by Bernard Daniels, 40, of Jersey Shore, who was traveling east on Washington Boulevard, collided, police said.

Following the impact, the truck flipped, part of it landing on the hood of a stopped Ford Expedition driven by Mark Wilkins, 68, of Trout Run, police said. Wishon was treated at UPMC, police said. The other two drivers and four children riding in the GMC all declined treatment for minor injuries, police said.

City firefighters, including two painting a hydrant just a block away, rushed to the scene to assist the injured. Wishon managed to climb out of the wreckage, but immediately went to the pavement, bleeding from the head, according to one witness.
