An estimate 300 PP&L customers – mostly in Armstrong Township just south of South Williamsport – are without power after a vehicle crashed into utility pole in the 100 block of Sulphur Springs Road about 11 p.m. Thursday, according to emergency responders.

Firefighters from South Williamsport, DuBoistown and Montgomery were dispatched to the crash. It was believed the driver escaped injury.

High-tension powerlines were reported down across the roadway.

State police and PP&L crews were en route to the scene.

Power was expected to be restored by 2 a.m. Friday.
