Williamsport man charged with abusing 911
In an affidavit filed at the office of District Judge Christian Frey, city police allege Zachary Ty Yaw, 31, of 2525 W. Fourth St., called 911 for no reason about 18 times between Jan. 27 and Feb. 6. “He consistently called and either would not answer his phone (on callback) or refused to open his door” when officers arrived at his home and attempted to speak to him, police alleged. One Feb 6 alone, he called 911 three times, but again he would not open the door for officers,
police said. Following a preliminary hearing, Yaw was held for court on a misdemeanor charge of abusing the 911 system and released on $5,000 bail.
