Justin Scott Peterson, 34, of 339 Lyons Ave., is facing felony charges of forgery and identity theft.

According to an affidavit by Old Lycoming Township police, Peterson allegedly stole checks from a friend and wrote checks to himself for a total value of $1,800.

Peterson told police that he wrote the checks to himself to pay for supplies and labor to remodel his friend’s home.

He was arraigned before Judge James Sortman on June 4 and is free on a $15,000 bail.
