Firetree Place to host open house

Firetree Place is inviting families, community members, local partners, and supporters to join them for a special Open House celebrating the organization, the children and families they serve, and the opening of their new expansion. Anthony Fortuna and Ellen Boll will perform at 2 p.m., Oct. 11, at the Saint John’s School of the Arts, 1157 Market St., Williamsport. Trick-or-treating coming to museum

An afternoon of trick-or-treating at the Taber Museum of the Lycoming County Historical Society will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 24. According to a news release, 40 local neighbors and interested history buffs came out to hear historians, John Marr, Tyler Dombroski, and Carol Shetler. John Marr gave a talk on the Ghost Town of Strawberry Ridge, located in the shadow of the Talen Energy Plant near Washingtonville in Northern Montour County.
