James V Brown Library to salute friends’ group at event

The James V. Brown Library, 19 E. Fourth St., will spend the week of Oct. 15-23 recognizing its Friends of the Library group as part of the 18th annual celebration of National Friends of Libraries Week. The Friends of the James V. Brown Library were established in 1956 by Robert P. Henry, a trade union worker who wanted to raise funds to help renovate the library. Since that time, the Friends group has grown from several community members to nearly 500 members. Authority gives more than $24,000 to charities

McELHATTAN — Over $24,000 in charity money will be donated to several county-wide nonprofits by the Clinton County Solid Waste Authority. A total of $24,654 will be donated, which was raised from the 22nd Annual John B. Hoy, Jr., Charity Golf Tournament. The tournament was held on Sept. 29. The money was spread out to the Clinton County Historical Society, Good Neighbor Center of the Renovo Council of Churches and the Covenant Cafe. Christian women’s luncheon to feature craft show theme

The Lock Haven Christian Women’s Connection will enjoy a “Craft Show” luncheon on Oct. 25 at at the Flemington First Church of Christ, 714 Canal St., Allison Township. West Branch Pride to host ball
