LOCK HAVEN — The beach is back in business! The opening of the Lock Haven City Beach, located along the West Branch of the Susquehanna River at the foot of Vesper Street, was originally planned for Sunday, June 18, but had to be delayed due to bacteria levels in the water. TREVORTON — Building his own Wiffle ball field was an idea that always lingered in the back of Kurt Klinger’s mind. After two years of planning, excavation and construction, Klinger’s dream finally became a reality in his very own backyard. The Wiffle ball field, fondly dubbed the “Mini Bank” after Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia, was opened to family and friends of Klinger, 38, of Trevorton, on Memorial Day weekend. Ice cream flavor raises money for library

The James V. Brown Library, 19 E. Fourth St., will be the recipient of a portion of funds from the sale of “Liberry” ice cream at Eder’s Ice Cream, 2242 Route 87, Montoursville. The fundraising sale will take place during the month of July and feature a blueberry-flavored “Liberry” ice cream. Since 1927, Eder’s Ice Cream has been a family tradition serving generation after generation only the finest hand-made ice cream. It was named one of 2017’s “The 10 Best Ice Cream Parlors in Pennsylvania!”

Three scouts earn Eagle rank
