Mount Carmel edges South Williamsport in playoff thriller

South Williamsport gave Mount Carmel a battle on the road but a game-winning basket with 3.4 seconds remaining ended its season. The Tornaodes defeated South, 53-51 and earned a spot in Friday's District 4 Class AAA quarterfinals against defending state champion Loyalsock. Lee Habalar scored a game-high 20 points and grabbed seven rebounds for South, concluding a strong season.
