MONTGOMERY--Most North Penn-Liberty players did not compete a lot during varsity games last season. But they sure played hard every day at practice. Each day there those younger players pushed the veterans and vice-versa as North Penn-Liberty captured a second straight NTL-II championship and reached the District 4 Class A championship. PHILADELPHIA — With a lineup missing two defending NCAA champions, and some of the rest weakened by illness, the No. 2 Penn State wrestling team had to scratch and claw Friday night to escape the Palestra with a 20-16 win over Penn. Roman Bravo-Young (133 pounds) and Aaron Brooks (184) didn’t even make the trip to Philadelphia, as each stayed home to aid in their recovery from the flu. Penn College cruised past Gallaudet, 75-50, in men’s basketball for the Wildcats’ first win of the season to move to 1-5 and 1-0 in the United East on Friday night. Penn College held a 45-22 lead at the half. Three Wildcats were in double figures, including Will Sulesky who had a 14-point, 11-rebound double-double.
