Paul and Iva Heise of Hughesville, who were married July 16, 1961 at Schultzville United Methodist Church, recently celebrated their 65th anniversary.

Paul is the son of the late Howard and Dorothy Heise. A graduate of Penn State, he is retired from the state Department of Transportation as a district engineer.

Iva is the daughter of the late Ralph and Iva Richards.

They are active members of The Beacon, a United Methodist Church in Hughesville.

They have a son, Dr. John Chiao DDS and three daughters, Lynnda Steimling of Hughesville, Sandra Moreland of Cincinnati and Donna Stackhouse of Hughesville, seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

A chicken barbecue was held at their home to celebrate.
