Eagle Grange wins ‘distinguished’ title

Eagle Grange #1, Montgomery, has been recognized for the fifth consecutive year as a Distinguished Grange by the National Grange along with 44 other Community and Pomona Granges and four State Granges across the country.

“Earning the title of 2024-2025 Distinguished Grange is not only a tremendous honor, but a mark of true excellence,” said National Grange President Christine Hamp, according to a news release. “Distinguished Granges are part of an elite group that has gone above and beyond in meeting the needs of their communities and advancing the mission of the Grange. To achieve this rank, a Grange must complete a wide variety of requirements that demonstrate dedication to service, strong leadership, and a commitment to growing the Grange family. These Granges set the highest example for others to follow, demonstrating that the spirit and heart of our organization remain vital in communities nationwide.”

In order to be named a Distinguished Grange, Eagle submitted a recap of activities, events, and other qualifying data from July 2024 through June 2025. Monthly educational programs were presented on topics ranging from honey production and Lithuanian egg art to restoring the American chestnut and Amish culture. Some of the service projects for the year included: FFA support, birthday cake kits and blankets for the Family Promise shelter, holiday cookies for shut-ins, and family friendly Jingle Bell Jamboree and movie night events.

Eagle Grange, founded in 1871, was the first Grange organized in Pennsylvania and has served its community continuously for more than 154 years. All activities are open to the public and new members are welcomed; for more information, contact Secretary Jenn Nauss at 717-512-1261.
