McELHATTAN — On Saturday, Oct. 25, the Wayne Township Recreation Committee held multiple events within the community.

The crisp fall weather resulted in several hundred people enjoying a Trunk or Treat and the Bates Motel presentation at the Nature Park. There were 16 trunks, decorated and stocked and The Bates Motel event offered an enjoyable time as well for those interested in a bit of a fright.

At the Restless Oaks Restaurant parking lot, hundreds flocked to the pavilion where refreshments and a warm fire kept riders occupied until they took the ride on Reservoir Road.

The committee thanks the following businesses and individuals for their help in making the event a success: Chatham Run Feed Mill, Dunkin’ Donuts, Lowes, Weis Markets, Jim and Lori Maguire, Terry Condo, Dave Calhoun, drivers Jason Smith and Keith Steckenfinger, Flemington Fire Police, Craig Willits and Aiden, Officer Dave Winkleman and township employees Arnold Coleman and John Bower.

Rec committee planners and hosts included: Carla Willits, Margie Steckenfinger, Patti Barrett, Marion Spong, Erin Winslow, Mary Kay Dremel-Farley, Tammy Welshans, Wendy Connelley and Mona Calhoun.

They also thanked the following volunteers for helping with the crowds at the hayride: Jeri Goodbrod, Chrissy Fritz, Katy McCloskey, Patty Barrett along with Jacey Fritz, Randy McCloskey, Lizzie and Mac McCloskey.
