The James V. Brown Library will implement new hours of operation beginning January 1, 2026, adjusting its schedule in response to a significant decrease in county funding while continuing to prioritize access to essential library services for the community.

Starting Jan. 1, 2026, the Library’s hours will be:

• Monday – Friday: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

• Saturday: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“These updated hours allow us to continue providing consistent, high-quality service while planning carefully for the future,” said Amy C. Resh, CEO of the James V. Brown Library. “With a reduction in county funding, we are taking careful steps to ensure the long-term sustainability of the Library while continuing to offer the free resources, programs, and services our community relies on every day.”

Despite the reduced evening hours, the James V. Brown Library remains committed to serving as a vital community hub, offering access to books and digital materials, public computers and Wi-Fi, educational programs for all ages, workforce development resources, and safe, welcoming spaces for learning and connection.

Library leadership continues to explore additional sustainable funding sources and advocacy efforts to help minimize the impact of funding reductions and protect public access to library services.
