Museum to host ‘Betsy Ross’

The Thomas T. Taber Museum of the Lycoming County Historical Society will host Meg Geffken appearing as the historical character “Betsy Ross” at its Coffee Hour at 10 a.m., Sept. 12, in its Community Room. According to a news release, the program is free and open to the public. “Betsy Ross” was Elizabeth Griscom (Mrs. John) Ross, a member of the Society of Friends (Quakers) who apprenticed to the upholsterer’s trade in Philadelphia. LOCK HAVEN — In February of this year, local Eagle Scout James Turner attended a Mill Hall Borough Council meeting to request approval for his four-phase Eagle Scout project.
