Events at James V Brown Library reflect on Mark Twain, JD Rockefeller

The James V. Brown Library, 19 E. Fourth St., will host two history programs in April. The first is a hybrid program called “Presentations with Pizzazz” from 6-6:45 p.m. Tuesday, April 9. Attendees can either visit the library during that time to watch the virtual program or log on from the comfort of their own home. “Presentations with Pizzazz” will be presented by Susan Cannavino, who will discuss the historical captain of industry, J.D. Museum to offer kids’ clay workshops

The Lewisburg Children’s Museum will host Ellen Jamiolkowski as an artist-in-residence in partnership with the Perry County Council of the Arts for a series of workshops called Hands in Clay. According to a news release, workshops for elementary-age children are available on April 13, 20, and 27, 2 to 4 p.m. with participants returning on May 4 to decorate their projects. Library plans eclipse viewing at Memorial Park

The James V. Brown Library, 19 E. Fourth St., will host a solar eclipse program and picnic from 1-4:30 p.m. Monday, April 8 at Memorial Park. The Library will give away 500 pairs of eclipse glasses at that time – no glasses will be given away prior to the picnic. Families are encouraged to grab a water bottle, bring your chair or blanket, and join us at Memorial Park Pavilion #2 next to the all-access playground. Foundation gives more than $21,000 to North Central Sight Services

North Central Sight Services Inc. recently received a grant of $21,280 from the Lycoming Economic Development Foundation Fund IMO Joseph L. Rider at the First Community Foundation Partnership of Pennsylvania, to be used towards equipment upgrades.
