Library continues book club for teens

The James V. Brown Library, 19 E. Fourth St., is continuing its popular teen book club. The Teen Laid-Back Book Club, similar to the Library’s adult Laid-Back Book Club, is open to readers ages 11-18. This program was suggested by the library’s Teen Advisory Group, which saw the need for book clubs for younger audiences. The club is designed to be low-pressure, interactive, and fun. Museum sponsors bus trip to Philly’s Barnes

The Taber Museum is sponsoring a bus trip to The Barnes Foundation in Philadelphia on May 3. The Barnes includes artworks of Renoir, Cezanne, Matisse, Picasso, Van Gogh, Modigliani and so much more. According to a news release, the fee includes round-trip transportation, admission to The Barnes and a box lunch. The public is invited. There is no Taber member discount. Tumbleweed Trio to perform at the Taber Museum

According to a press release, The Tumbleweed Trio will appear at 2 p.m. March 30 in the Community Room at the Taber Museum, 858 West Fourth Street. The Trio will perform America’s cowboy songs, from the 1800s Old West to the 20th Century’s golden age of cowboy movie heroes. The performance is free and open to the public. For this special Taber Museum program, they will also tell some of the “stories behind the songs,” the press release said.
