Factory Works Photo Lab to hold workshops

The Factory Works Photo Lab at the Pajama Factory will hold a number of workshops this fall, according to a press release. They include two skill-building workshops and a vintage brownie camera workshop that utilizes a mid-century medium format camera.

The intro classes, to be held on Sept. 7 and 21, focus on black-and-white film development and printing enlargements from black-and-white negatives, respectively. Each class is at a fee and participants need only bring an exposed, undeveloped roll of black-and-white film for the class on Sept. 7, and black-and-white negatives for the class on the Sept. 21.

The Brownie Camera workshop on Oct. 12 will utilize vintage mid-century brownie cameras and a roll of medium format film to shoot and make prints. All supplies are included and participants will have an hour-and-a-half to shoot up to 12 pictures, so they should consider possible locations near the Pajama Factory to do so, the press release said.

After developing their film, class will break for lunch for an hour. Participants are encouraged to bring a bagged lunch or patronize White Knights Gamers Galley at the Pajama Factory as there won’t be time to go off-site to grab lunch.

In the afternoon, registrants will make an 8×10 print from one of their exposures. This class is also at a fee and up to two people can be included in a registration, each registration includes a single camera and roll of film.
