BBA to host Delta Generators show this month

Although the Billtown Blues Association had no plans of presenting a January event, when word got out that the Boston-based Delta Generators were traveling through the region this month, the BBA jumped at the chance to book them for a local show. According to a press release, the performance will take place at 4 p.m. on Jan. 25 at The Side Bar, 345 Market Street.

Since 2008, The Delta Generators have been building up steam throughout New England and beyond. The group’s sound features a variety of influences that cover the gamut of American roots music, including traditional blues, R&B, Americana, and rockin’ blues.

The band’s configuration exudes extraordinary talent, energy and creative spirit, the press release said. Its members include Brian Templerton, formally of the Radio Kings, on lead vocals and harp; Charlie O’Neal, on guitar; Rick O’Neal, on bass; and Jeff Armstrong, on drums. Together, these musicians lend their respective talents and individual influences to create the unique Delta Generators sound and special musical experience.

At the International Blues Challenge, the band has landed in the Top 10 and received a Best Self-Produced CD nomination. Their first release, “Devil In the Rhythm,” garnered a win at the Independent Music Awards. Film and television studios have also taken notice of the band, with their song “Way Down” serving as the theme for the Netflix series “Yankee,” among others. The band’s latest release, “The Lost Years,” is available on all streaming platforms and at live performances.

“The Billtown Blues Association continues to present high-quality musical performances including local and regional talent and routing national acts, when opportunity knocks,” said the press release. “Our partnership with The Side Bar in downtown Williamsport is the ideal location to enjoy an intimate, relaxing music experience.”

Early dinner meal options are available by The Side Bar and tickets for the show are on sale now at the Journey Bank Community Arts Center box office during open hours.
