Six face drug charges in five separate cases
Sabeeth Goldwire, 27, of Upper Darby (a Philadelphia suburb), has been jailed on nine felony counts each of delivery of a controlled substance and illegal use of a cellphone for selling sizable amounts of methamphetamine and crack cocaine to informants between February and late July, state police alleged in a criminal complaint. Most of the sales occurred in the 700 block of West Fourth Street in the city, and involved amounts from an ounce to a half a pound of a controlled substance, police said. Following his recent arraignment before District Judge Christian Frey, Goldwire, who has since waived his preliminary hearing, remains jailed in the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $75,000 bail.
In another case, Sara Shade, 39, of Lock Haven, was charged with possession of a controlled substance (.11 grams of cocaine), possession of a marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia in the 900 block of Ellinger Street in the city on July 29, according to state police. She was held for court following her preliminary hearing before District Judge Aaron Biichle, and is free on $10,000 bail.
In another case, Matthew Russell Smith, 35, of 1425 Scott St., has been charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance for having 2.68 grams of cocaine with him in the 400 block of Washington Boulevard on Feb. 2, it was alleged in an affidavit filed by the county’s Narcotics Enforcement Unit (NEU). The same unit has charged Smith, who also carried an address of 815 Cherry St., with delivery of a controlled substance andi illegal use of a cellphone for allegedly selling a small amount of cocaine to a known individual in the same block on Washington Boulevard on Aug. 30, it was alleged in a second criminal complaint. Arraigned Thursday before Biichle, Smith was jailed in lieu of $80,000 bail.
In another case, motorist Jorden Jene Walters, 29, of 104 S. Main St., Muncy, and passenger Christopher Lee Andrews, 34, of 616 W. Edwin St., haven been charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia after the controlled substance was discovered inside Walters’ pickup truck as well as Andrews’ backpack on May 26, according to a state police affidavit. During a vehicle stop on Interstate 180 at the Muncy interchange, troopers detected “an odor of raw marijuana from inside the vehicle,” police said. Walters and Andrews both refused to allow police to search the truck so it was impounded and police obtained a search warrant to go through it. Andrews admitted there was marijuana in his backpack. Police seized 30 grams of marijuana that were found in a glass jar and an additional three grams of the controlled substance that were in an empty candle holder, the affidavit stated. Both the jar and candle holder were on the truck’s floor, police said, adding that Walters, who faces an additional charge of possession of a controlled substance, admitted that everything in the vehicle was his except Andrews’ backpack. Both men have since waived their preliminary hearings and are free on bail.
In another case, Travis Seals, 28, of 1648 Scott St., has been charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia after a ripped bag containing fentanyl was found in his home while detectives with the county’s NEU were executing a search warrant there on Feb. 9, according to an affidavit. Following his arraignment before Frey, Seals was released on bail.
